Apparatus Information

  • Waltek was a Canadian truck and fire apparatus manufacturer that specialized in aircraft crash rescue vehicles. The company went out of business in 2003, and its assets were purchased by R.P.M. Tech of Laval, Quebec. R.P.M. Tech manufactures snow removal equipment. When Walter Canada Ltd. went out of business in 1985, shareholder Georges Laporte acquired the remaining assets and established a new company called Waltek Motor Trucks. The name was a combination of Walter and technology. Initially, the company provided parts and service for Walter trucks. In the early 1990s, Waltek built some specialty mining support vehicles. The company then began to offer aircraft crash rescue vehicles. By the early 2000s, the Canadian market for crash trucks became very slim, and the company filed for bankruptcy in 2003. In 2008 R.P.M. Tech acquired Walteks assets and announced plans to offer the complete line of Waltek crash rescue vehicles. As of 2017, no production of these vehicles has been reported.

  • This old fire truck would make a good collector's rig, or parade piece for a Volunteer Fire Department, or a Fire Fighter who just wants their own rig to make local appearances.

  • This fire truck has been well taken care of, and has very little use during its life. With very few miles, it should serve your fire department for years to come!
