Apparatus Information

  • S&S Fire Apparatus Company was an American fire apparatus manufacturer located in Fairmount, Indiana. The company had a second plant in Keller, Texas. S&S Fire Apparatus Company was founded in 1983. S&S primarily built water tenders, pumpers and brush trucks on commercial or custom chassis. Most deliveries appear to have been to fire departments in the Midwestern and Eastern US. The Bureau of Land Management was a significant customer buying a large number of wildland engines and water tenders. In the early 2000s the U.S. Forest Service also bought a number of wildland engines. The company was sold to SNF Industries of Texas in 2005. In 2008 S&S celebrated its 25th year in business. At that time it employed about 80 people, and was building 120-150 pieces of apparatus per year. Operations ceased in November of 2008 with little warning.

  • With under 25,000 miles, this used fire truck has been very well taken care of over its life. There should be plenty of life left to respond to emergency calls in your own fire department with this piece of emergency equipment.
