  • Truck Description
The rescue/pumper was purchased in 2007 to be a "first due"combination unit. The thought was during the day when we were shortest in our volunteer staffing this truck would be able to be a "do all" piece with limited staffing..and it is. However, we have added full-time staff to supplement our volunteer staffing and have moved our response protocols to a more traditional system. We also have an aging ladder (1986 Grumman) that is consuming about 70-75% of our maintenance budget and is in dire need of replacement. With recent budget cuts and the state of the economy, we no longer have the budget to support operating and replacing a heavy rescue squad and ladder truck. I met with my command staff and we deemed it our number one priority to replace or ladder and build a new one that meets our needs now and into the future, thus leaving the sale of the rescue pumper needed to support our ladder purchase. As far as the condition of the rescue pumper, it is in very good condition. It received a $12,000 upgrade in 2012. At that time we reworked the rear crosslay, revamped the crew cab (taking if from 10 seats to 6) and we added the IMMI smart dock SCBA brackets. The truck was modified to improve on its design and to help meet our new response protocols. The truck has been well maintained, it is pump tested and receives a DOT inspection annually. We have all of the maintenance done by an outside agency and will provide maintenance records and additional pictures if needed.
