God-ordained work with our hands, secular jobs, before he ever established worship rituals or the New Testament church, or the first pastor was hired.

Genesis 1:28

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it

Genesis 2:15

The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.

God appointed man to secular employment in the very early stages of creation, before there was a structure for worship and people work at worship and church things.

God must have seen secular work as important.

Therefore all work -- Your work -- has a spiritual dimension. Ministry happens wherever God's people are placed and I suggest, that if we are Christ-followers then it is our place, responsibility, to do ministry where we work.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. 12 Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.

Work is not a hindrance to ministry, it is a part of it.

So...how do we live spiritually, ministering in a secular position

  • recognize God-ordained secular work

  • God has placed you where you are for a reason

  • God has equipped you for ministry

  • live your life as an example to others demonstrating your commitment to Christ

If you need the support of other believers

  • pray God will bring someone to you

  • call us at Brindlee Mountain, submit a prayer request we will pray with you. We are even willing to go further. Call us at 256-776-7786, or email us at responsetime@firetruckmall.com. We will be glad to talk with you and walk with you in your desire to minister in your workplace.

Colossians 3:23

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
